Hi guys, I haven't posted here for a while. My cameras been bust, I'm too skint to afford a new one and so I haven't been making many movies. However, I was recently able to use my mates xl2 to make a music video for a college assignment, and thought you might like to see it.
It has to include 10% of found footage, so instead of putting in clips of footage I used www.detonationfilms.com and included their explosions. The transparency stuff isn't so great in places, but I think it'll still get me the grade I'd like!
There were some complications, like a tight schedule which meant I couldn't get all the band together for it Anyway, enjoy the tacky effects at least!

(6mb, low-ish quality - sorry!)

I thought it was "okay". Some of the composites looked quite good under those compressed conditions, and some looked ...... not so good.
I think the main thing that lets it down in the "home video" look which you could've disguised a little in post.
I would've at least tweaked the brightness/contrast/levels to give it a much "darker" look which might suit the band's image a bit more.

I agree about the compositing. It would have worked a lot better as "Home movie stylee" if they had matched the footage better.
Not bad though.
